Ingredients
- 1 ea. pork shoulder (bone-in)
- 2 cups BBQ sauce
- 2 cups apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup blackening spice
- 10 cloves garlic
- 2 each onions, peeled & quartered
- 2 quarts water
Instructions
- Rub pork with blackening spice and BBQ sauce
- Place in a deep baking pan with the onions, garlic and carrots
- Add the water
- Cover with foil
- Roast in the oven at 300 degrees 7-8 hours until fork tender
- Check at approx. 3 hours
- Remove from oven and allow to cool while still in the water
- Pick and shred the meat off the bone, removing any large pieces of fat
- Mix in a little more BBQ sauce and some of the liquid to keep it moist and add additional flavor
